Custom Handmade Leather Journal - Lifsstafur (Life Stave)
These custom leather journals are hand crafted and hand bound by a local Salem artisan.
Found in the 1940 publication “Galdra-skræða Skuggi” by Icelandic scholar Jochums M Eggertssonar. The Icelandic definition of “life” relates more to the state of being alive than that of a way of life or living. It can also mean one’s body, even body and soul, thus it could be regarded as a symbol to keep you alive and healthy. The symbol is strengthened by the use of Æglishjalmir on the left and right sides.
The paper used in these journals is ideal for use with a fountain pen, however any writing instrument can be used
