To Ragnarok: Norse Stories
The first translated composition of Norse Mythology dates back to the 13th century: a collection of poems that were anonymously submitted. As Scandinavian culture has become more and more unearthed, several more mythological texts have been recovered and translated. This collection contains short stories of Norse myth from three different collections: The Heroes of Asgard by A. & E. Keary (1891), Norse Stories Retold from the Eddas by Hamilton Wright Mabie (1901), and In the Days of Giants: A Book of Norse Tales by Abbie Farwell Brown (1902). While each may be different translations of the same Nordic tales, they all breathe life into the Gods, Goddess, Giants, mythical beasts, and different worlds the traditions and complex cultures of Scandinavia are built upon.
