In front of a flourishing tree, Danu, Mother of the Gods, steps forward confidently, simple red dress sweeping along the ground. A sleeping baby is held tenderly in her arms as she looks ahead, braided hair hanging down. The base of the figurine bears the legend “Danu”.
Danu is a primordial mother goddess in Celtic mythology, especially in Irish tradition. She is considered the ancestral mother of the gods, particularly the divine race known as the Tuatha Dé Danann (“the People of Danu”). She is associated with fertility, rivers, earth, abundance, and wisdom.
